Abstract

Two series of ZrO2-containing catalysts based on mesoporous mesostructured silicate SBA-15 were prepared by co-precipitation and impregnation methods. The catalysts were characterized using a complex of physico- chemical methods. The catalytic properties were tested in the process of hydrolysis of larch arabinogalactan. For a series of catalysts obtained by the co-precipitation method, the parameters to determine the catalytic activity are ZrO2 content and the catalyst acidity. A decrease in the zirconia content leads to an increase of the catalyst acidity, which leads to an increase in the total yield of products. Catalysts obtained by co- precipitation showed greater catalytic activity in the hydrolysis of arabinogalactan compared to catalysts obtained by impregnation. Maximum yield of target monosaccharides (arabinose and galactose) is 55 wt.% 130 °C, 4 h and was achieved on the catalyst containing 5 wt.%. of ZrO2 prepared by co-precipitation method
