- Abstract
In the context of dynamic cultural development, particularly associated with the success of the widespread introduction of digital technologies and the expansion of artificial intelligence, the work of contemporary regional artists acquires a special value. Since they manage to preserve the uniqueness of regional culture, which is sometimes levelled in the conditions of globalisation. The present work is devoted to the study of creativity of the Siberian artist N. I. Rybakov. The master’s works belong to the direction of neoarchaics, which is characterised by an appeal to ancient images and forms of traditional culture. The purpose of the present study is to reveal the originality of N. I. Rybakov’s picturesque works of art by applying the method of philosophical and art history analysis. The following works belonging to different decades were chosen as representatives: “Prashchur” (from the series “Zemlyaki”), 1985, “Agrarian Country III”, 1992, “Untitled (Earthly and Heavenly)”, 2007, “Guide. Nomadic Trails”, 2012, “Tea on the Yenisei”, 2023. The research reveals the specificity of the author’s language, which consists in the combination of archaic content and modern method of visualisation, which implies the dominance of colour over form, expression over image. Thus, the artist manages to present the deep meanings of archaic culture to the modern viewer through the language of abstract painting
