Abstract

The article discusses the principles of parametric description of the communication skills of medical professionals. The potential of this approach for solving several interrelated tasks is considered: diagnostics of the communicative competence of medical professionals; development of methods for the formation of communicative skills of medical professionals; generalization of up-to-date information about doctors on specialized Internet resources in order to optimize the search for specialists who meet the requirements of the consumer of medical services. The parametric model assumes the allocation of a stable set of features characterizing the verbal and non-verbal aspects of interaction in the dyad “doctor-patient”. The meaningful content of the model is carried out due to the results of a communicative and pragmatic analysis of patient reviews, which reflect on certain aspects of communicative interaction in medical communication. Based on the review analysis, the following parameters are highlighted: 1) the communicative skill of information exchange; 2) the communicative skill of expressing empathy; 3) the communicative skill of tact (observing the boundaries of the personal sphere); 4) the communicative skill of organizing a dialogue; 5) the communicative skill of choosing a language code and tone of communication. The article presents a fragment of the description of the doctor’s communication skills using the example of two parameters – “Communication skill of information exchange” and “Communication skill of empathy expression”. The author believes that the parametric approach opens up opportunities for the creation of valid tools for diagnosing communication skills, the development of targeted educational programs, and, ultimately, for the standardization and improvement of the quality of one of the key components of medical care
