Abstract

Proceeding from the criminally punishable provocation of corruption offenses, the author makes a transition to characterizing the use of provocative methods in the activities of operational units of law enforcement agencies. The article substantively examines operational-search measures that carry provocative risks in the context of conducting operational-search actions aimed at the detection, solution, and investigation of corruption-related crimes, primarily those involving bribery. The technologies of such provocative-risk operational measures as test purchases and undercover operational experiments in the solution and investigation of corruption crimes are demonstrated. Examples of operational and investigative errors in the practice of combating corruption are provided. Recommendations for the minimizing of provocative technologies in operational-search and criminal procedural activities are presented
