Abstract

This paper examines the specifics of converting low- capacity boilers to burning two- and three-component coal-water slurries (CWS), which contain a specific proportion of finely ground coal, water, and fuel oil additives to improve flammability. Calculations are presented for the elemental composition and characteristics of the CWS, the volumes of air and combustion products, the available heat of the fuel, and the boiler unit losses. To assess the efficiency of replacing coal with CWS, a thermal analysis of the TP-35U boiler was performed, resulting in comparative efficiency data for different CWS compositions
