Abstract

This article examines Vladimir Zhukovsky’s collection of graphic works, “Vyakushki.” Vladimir Zhukovsky is a contemporary Krasnoyarsk artist whose work harmoniously combines original art theory and the practice of producing astonishing works of art. The artist skillfully works with both traditional artistic materials and unusual objects, combining the visual and verbal, revealing new meanings for familiar concepts in numerous art objects, graphic works, installations, and more. The “Vyakushki” collection is made of paper with colored pencils. It was published in the “CHEK” album in 2012, along with the “Bunchala” and “Duryndy” collections. Drawing on definitions of several concepts in V. I. Dahl’s dictionary, Vladimir Zhukovsky created “Vyakushki.” In these seemingly simple drawings, in various poetic forms, lie philosophical reflections on life as a moment between being and non-being
