Abstract

The article substantiates the specifics of the religiosity of art in the interpretation of the Krasnoyarsk scientist, Professor V. I. Zhukovsky. In his theory, the artistic image in its essence turns into a deep religious connection, in which the sensual form holds the relationship of a finite person with the Absolute. Of particular importance is the distinction between egocentric, sociocentric, cosmocentric and absolutocentric religiosity, which makes it possible to identify the religious dimension in both ecclesiastical and outwardly secular works. The originality of the interpretation of the relationship between the material and non-material layers is emphasized in the article when compared with the concept of the philosopher E. Gilson. Both authors focus on the work of art as a whole, not only religious in the framework of the plot and belonging of the era, and the reflection moves from material material uniqueness to a spiritual symbol. The article reveals the striking originality of the Russian philosophical and art criticism tradition in the person of V. I. Zhukovsky and his school, for which the religiosity of art appears as an internal way of being an artistic image
