Abstract

This article examines the work of Vladimir Ilyich Zhukovsky, based on an analysis of four volumes from his «Fairy Tales» album series. The relevance of this study stems from the insufficient study of the artist’s work, despite the fact that he has been continuously creating art since the 1970s to the present, and a significant portion of his works are in the collections of leading museums in Krasnoyarsk. This article examines the relationship between visual and verbal signs in the artist’s work. The study proposes a separate emphasis on the verbal status of works of art, as the verbal component of works of art requires specialized analysis using linguistic aesthetics. Using content analysis and philosophical and art historical analysis, the authors identified the main leitmotifs of V. I. Zhukovsky’s fairy tales, their key characters, and the egocentric nature of the artist’s tales, which is transformed into a holistic philosophical worldview
